Why Pseudo-Anonymous is right for Shaggy Sheep

I receive a lot of messages asking why I don’t put up my personal Twitter or Instagram on our website and project pages so I’ve decided to write a short response to answer the question. Essentially there are two main reasons.

Firstly, I believe that the project should be about the art and community, not about myself (do you really want to see my face plastered all over our website? Sounds pretty lame if you ask me). Likewise, it’s in the spirit of crypto to be anonymous (e.g. Satoshi Nakamoto) and not to make a project about yourself — this is an ideal I really respect and that drew me to crypto in the first place.

Secondly, I don’t think it’s any more risky to invest in an NFT with a ‘public’ founder vs. a pseudo-anonymous one. The main reason people think this is because it’s a general warning given by NFT influencers. It makes sense for the most part but anyone who’s ever watched an episode of Catfish knows how easy to fake your social media profile anyway. There are of course exceptions to this, for example when there are famous or reputable founders but for the most part all NFT investments are equally risky.

If this project was a rug pull I would’ve left after making a couple eth. Instead I’ve reinvested eth earned into promotions to mark Shaggy Sheep.

If you’re interested to know about me — here’s my background in a paragraph.

I’m from Sydney, Australia, have an undergrad and postgrad in Finance. Taught myself to code in uni to earn money doing projects part-time. Worked in Investment Banking for a year but hated it so I started my own E-Commerce company. Had a decent exit from that company after a few years and have been chilling while doing some consulting since. Crypto-wise I became interested in the space during the 2017 bull-run but only started doing dev projects in 2021. Placing a bet on me and Shaggy Sheep is safer than most NFT projects out there ;)
